Structuring an Outstanding MFL Lesson

Do you have no idea where to begin with planning outstanding MFL lessons? Are you struggling to plan your lessons efficiently? Are you looking for new ideas to revitalise your tired old routines and lesson plans?

If so, this is the perfect digital course for you!

Previously known as “Lesson Planning 101”, this CPD course is now a digital course that you can purchase immediately and use whenever you want! Download all of the resources as soon as you purchase the course, and then work through at your own pace and come back to them again whenever you need a refresher.

Included in the course are:

  • FIVE PowerPoints, with audio recordings to guide you through and explain each of the ideas in detail
  • Exclusive full lessons in French, German and Spanish which illustrate my teaching philosophy of ‘exploiting one text’ (click here for details of my CPD on this!).
  • BONUS PPT and recording from my Teaching Phonics in MFL CPD workshop from 23rd October 2023!

NB I’ve updated the PowerPoints and lessons since the last time I ran this as a live CPD workshop to reflect the changes with the new GCSE (first exams 2026), including how to incorporate dictations and read aloud tasks into your everyday planning.

The five sections of the CPD are:

  1. Starting a lesson effectively
  2. Introducing new vocabulary and phrases
  3. Listening and reading
  4. Speaking and writing
  5. Finishing a lesson strongly

Don’t forget, this course is included with Buy Everything for no extra cost!

Feedback from previous courses:

  • It was a very enriching session with practical ideas. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to put these ideas and games into practice in my classroom.
  • The course provided me with lots of new ideas for starters on paper and new games for plenaries! I am glad I signed up! Thank you Kate Languages!
  • Despite being in my 19th year of teaching, I found today’s CPD course very helpful. It reminded me of the importance of planning a lesson from start to finish and gave me some fresh ideas for my language toolbox which I can’t wait to use. The course was well-organized and very informative. I would definitely attend another one.

The course is ideal for trainee teachers, beginning teachers (ECTs) and even those with more experience who just need a refresher and some new ideas. If you’re not 100% sure if it’s the right fit for you, send me a message through the contact form here and I’ll get back to you asap.

If you’d like to book me to run this CPD in person at your school or teacher training centre, get in touch and we’ll set a date!
